Level 2
- Uses the appropriate performance management style (directing, coaching, supporting, delegating) for each person in the team and situation, balancing task and relationship behaviours.
- Uses the right style, based on the individual involved, to motivate, recognise, and praise individual and collective performance; empowers people to deliver results.

Styles
Read 'Choosing the Right Management Style(s)' and decide which style to use with each member of your team. Review this decision regularly, as individuals’ needs may change.
Delegating
Delegating is one of the management styles. However, you can delegate to people even if you are using the Supporting or even Coaching styles. You just do it with more time spent on either the task explanation or on feedback, following the advice in 'Choosing the Right Management Style(s)'. Refer to the 'Delegation Checklist' for other tips. You will find it in the skill Delegating and Empowerment.
